\"Filling<\/a>Second grade teacher, Michelle Rhoads,\u00c2\u00a0 is interviewed in this MissionCast video as she tells about the importance of the backpack snacks outreach program of the Grace United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n

Many school-aged children get breakfast and lunch at school during the school year.\u00c2\u00a0 About half of Sullivan, Missouri\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s school children qualify for free or reduced lunches. Over the weekends, however, many children do not have access to food.\u00c2\u00a0 The Grace United Methodist Congregation is filling this gap by providing \u00e2\u20ac\u0153backpack snacks.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 The backpacks contain healthy, nutritious snacks for these children to take home each weekend. Items in the backpacks include things like shelf-stable milk, pasta bowls, fruit juice, applesauce, peanut butter, mac and cheese, and granola bars.<\/p>\n

We are so very appreciative of the Grace media team and their pastor Steve Williams for making this video and giving us permission to use it for a MissionCast.<\/p>\n
