PET-Columbia celebrated the dedication of their new (new to them) building in grand style.\u00c2\u00a0 PET stands for Personal Energy Transportation.\u00c2\u00a0 A PET is a 3 wheel, hand cranked wheelchair for those who have lost the use of their legs.\u00c2\u00a0 The PET production started in the garage of Mel West over ten years go.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Now\u00c2\u00a0PET-Columbia occupies its third home in a much expanded facility.\u00c2\u00a0 Three faith groups participated in the dedication:\u00c2\u00a0 Muslim, Jewish and Christian.\u00c2\u00a0 PETs built entirely with volunteer labor cost $250 each for the manufacturing<\/span> and transportation to far off lands.\u00c2\u00a0 One of the major offerings at the 2008 Missouri Annual Conference will be for PETs.\u00c2\u00a0 Plan now how your church might raise the $250 for a PET and give the “Gift of Mobility” so someone\u00c2\u00a0who does not have it.\u00c2\u00a0 Plan a special fund raising event or take up a special Thanksgiving, Christmas or Lenten offering and give this wonderful “Gift of Mobility.”\u00c2\u00a0 For more information about PETs go to:\u00c2\u00a0 http:\/\/www.giftofmobility.org<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 Also look in the MissionCast Archives for MissionCast Episode 3 about a PET delivery in Vietnam and MissionCast Episode 9 about the PET production in Mexico.\u00c2\u00a0 The content of this MissionCast was provided to us by KOMU-TV in Columbia.\u00c2\u00a0 The reporter was Jason Lamb.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/font>\u00c2\u00a0To view MissionCast click on the picture\u00c2\u00a0above or click on one of the links below.<\/font><\/p>\n
