340. MissionCast – Cutting Edge Research – Ludhiana Christian Medical College

Haiti

Dr. Betty Cowan was a beloved missionary who served for many long years at the Ludhiana Christian Medical College. The Medical College’s research and innovation center now bears her name. Recently the Betty Cowan Research and innovation Center received a grant for the purchase of a Hyperspectral Imaging System which has not only enhanced their research capabilities but has enabled them to became a teaching center for hyperspectral imaging research. In this MissionCast, Dr. Neeta Kang, Head of Innovation, tells about the new system and some of it’s uses.

Morning Star United Methodist Church is one of the fastest growing churches in the Missouri Conference.  One among many reasons for this growth is that of using the most current media available to make the gospel come alive for their members.  With permission MissionCast is sharing one of videos that UMTV (United Methodist Communications) recently posted about how Morning Star UMC gives members the opportunity to text questions to their pastor, Rev. Mike Schreiner, during the worship service.

123. A Church That Tweets

Trietsch UMC

When our family moved to Texas after I was appointed to serve as the director of the South Central Jurisdiction Volunteers in Mission program, the church that welcomed us and helped us move in was Trietsch United Methodist Church, in Flower Mound, Texas.  So I was interested when the UMTV video this week was about Treitsch.  The church preaches the theology of twitter, encourages their members to tweet and even bring their phones to church. MissionCast thanks UMTV for the use of this video for this week’s MissionCast.
