399. Missouri UMC in Guatemala

The sixth mission team from Missouri United Methodist Church, in Columbia has returned and we met Caryl and Jim Bryan in their home to learn about that they have been doing. As you can see their dog, Jasper, was an attentive listener.
The Missouri United Methodist teams have been working in the very poor villages of San Juan La Laguna, San Pablo and Palestina located along Lake Atitan. 372. MissionCast – Hope Swings (Palmyra UMC & Mt. Olivet UMC)

The Palmyra and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Churches recently built swing sets for families with children in Washington, Illinois. Last November a devastating tornado ripped through the town. While houses were rebuilt rapidly play equipment for children were not. So three churches in Illinois started the “Hope Swings” project with the goal of building 100 swing sets in 42 days. This MissionCast tells about Missouri’s participation in “Hope Swings.”

362. Woods Chapel Partners With a Village in Nicaragua

We are grateful to Woods Chapel and Missy Nance for producing this video for MissionCast. Through the Rainbow Network they have formed a partnership with a village in Nicaragua and have purchased land for 25 new homes they will be building with the villagers. 361. Bartelsmeyers Become Costa Rica Missionaries

Joe and Martha Bartelsmeyers, members of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, have committed their next year or two to serving as Short Term United Methodist Missionaries at the Latin American Biblical Seminary in San Jose, Costa Rica. They will be working with Volunteers in Mission teams that will be building a new dormitory on campus. Over 25 teams from Missouri, including a cabinet team with Bishop Sherer, helped to build the buildings on the new campus originally and helped with organizing the books in the library. The Latin American Biblical Seminary is a beautiful place to serve. Student from all over Central and South American receive their degrees at this international seminary.
