387. MissionCast – Global Market – Community UMC

HaitiThe Community United Methodist Church in Columbia, Missouri runs a fair trade store, called Global Market, in their church all year long. Normally they are open on Tuesday 9 to 1, Wednesday 1 to 7 and on Sunday 9:30 to 11. However, currently they are observing holiday hours and are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 2 and until 7 on Wednesday. They will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. If you live in central Missouri or have plans to be in Columbia, stop by and shop. The fair trade store is designed to help the rural poor, small farmers and artisans by returning a fair share of the profits to them. The church is located on West Broadway across from HyVee and next to Walmart. (3301 W. Broadway, Columbia, MO 65203)

Raymond Hayes, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church shares his thoughts about the day which is set aside to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
