394. MissionCast – Rock Bridge High School & Grant Elementary School Partner to Fight Hunger

HaitiRock Bridge High School students have partnered with Grant Elementary School 4th graders to raise money to purchase animals for impoverished families through the Read to Feed program of Heifer International. This is how it works. Rock Bridge students share information about Read to Feed with the 4th graders. The 4th graders sign up to read books for Read to Feed. Each high school student partners with a 4th grader for whom they find sponsors who agree to pay so much per chapter that their 4th grader reading buddy reads with a maximum of $40. The money is used to purchase animals through Heifer International. This is just one of the fund raising projects of the new Heifer International Club at Rock Bridge High School. For information about starting a club in your high school or if you would like to sponsor a 4th grade reader you may contact club leader, Elliot Bones, at elsobo600@gmail.com.
