At the beginning of the year Kirkwood United Methodist Church decided to make the year 
“The Year of Shalom.” They did this by making their ministry at Shalom House (a shelter for homeless woman) their signature mission for the year. Their goal is to give every church member the opportunity to be in mission. Their mission ministry has been a huge success, so much so, that they were awarded the Shalom House Community Impact Award. This MissionCast interviews Cathy Poe who coordinated this ministry. Rev. Sue Mitch, associate pastor at Kirkwood, also on hand to receive the award, spearheads Kirkwoods mission ministry.
