370. Christianson Native Craft Festival – The Best of MissionCast

While MissionCast is taking a vacation during July we are offering some of the Best of MissionCast. This one is from 2007.

The Christianson Native Craft Festival, is named after Frances Christianson, long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Rolla. It was started by the Office of Creative Ministries and Frances to help skilled craft persons from Missouri make a better living. Many of these highly talented persons were economically impoverished. It is held each year during the first week of August at the United Church of Christ Shanendale Camp just south of Salem, Missouri. It now draws craft persons from a four state area who donate their time to teach their crafts to campers who can pick from over 20 native Missouri crafts to learn. 369. Kids & Cows – North Cross UMC – Best of MissionCast

During the July MissionCast vacation we will be posting some of the Best of MissionCast. This one comes from Marck 2008.

Wanda Jackson, produced this video, which took second place in the MissionCast video contest. The video is humorous and very well done. The kids at North Cross UMC, in North Kansas City, really wanted to make a difference and they did. To see how click on the picture at the left or one of the links below.

HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY HEIFER INTERNATIONAL – July 14, 1944 was THE day that Heifer International began.

If you have produced a video on some mission program or activity in your church please send it in so we can show your stuff too. The only restriction is that it must not violate any copyright laws in order for us to be able to post it on the Internet. Oh yes, the maximum length is 2 1/2 minutes. However, with your permission we are able often to edit down a longer piece to the needed length.

368. MissionCast – Church & School Partner – Carl Junction UMC

The Carl Junction United Methodist Church partnered with the Carl Junction Intermediate School, to host the 6th grade play day for the 4th consecutive year. Two hundred and fifty students, teachers and volunteers from the church and community came together to make the play day a huge success. We are thankful to Rev. Bill Kenagy and the Carl Junction United Methodist Church for providing the materials for producing this MissionCast.

367. MissionCast – Epworth Children & Family Services for 150 Years

For 150 years Epworth Children & Family Service has successfully provided support and healing to at risk children and families. They have a wonderful new video that tells the story. 366. MissionCast – How Our Nets Are Distributed

1.2 million dollars were raised for Imagine No Malaria by United Methodist congregations in Missouri last conference year. This MissionCast shows how those nets are being distributed with a number of safeguards in place to make sure every family is protected from mosquito bites. We are grateful to United Methodist Communications and your Church World Service apportionment dollars for supplying us with this video and script.
